Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort welcomes blues and rock icons Edgar Winter and Rick Derringer to the Grand Oak Ballroom stage on Thursday, March 5 at 7 p.m.
A child prodigy, Edgar Winter’s music encompasses multiple genres of music including rock, jazz, blues, and pop. His 1970 album debut, Entrance, demonstrated his unique ability to cross genre lines. With over 20 albums and numerous collaborations, some of Winter’s hit singles include “Tobacco Road,” “Frankenstein,” “Show Your Love,” and “Turn On Your Love Light.” He can also be heard on feature film and television shows like My Cousin Vinny, Wayne’s World 2, The Simpsons, and What’s Love Got to do With It.
Great guitarist, vocalist, and entertainer Rick Derringer was just seventeen when his band The McCoys recorded their hit “Hang on Sloopy.” After spending four years with the McCoys, Rick went on to tour with Edgar’s brother, Johnny Winter. It wasn’t until 1990 that Rick and Edgar Winter went on tour together and have since collaborated on multiple occasions, including their Winter Blues CD.
Will call opens at 5 p.m., the doors open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m. Beer, wine, and food will be available.
